The debut cassette from this early 9o's Wellington band. Toured with Bailter Space, but relatively unknown. Pretty cool noise-rock stuff. Wellington band This Will Kill That emerged under a wall of guitar noise to create a driving and engaging sound, hooks buried deep. The band predominantly played sets round their home town, dividing their audience into committed fans and people who just plain didn't get it. TWKT released a six track cassette 'Nailed Out' through Wellington label Really Big Records, available mainly through mail order and selected local shops. The songs on this release were recorded in a day at Writhe Studios by ex-Skeptic Nic Roughan in 1991 and their Good Things CD contribution 'Dolly' was taken from these recordings. The band disbanded in 1993.
The purpose of this blog is to expose you to the unique and unrepeatable New Zealand scene known as "Dunedin Sound" that emerged in New Zealand in the early eighties. This space takes over from wonderful blogs that in their time served to make known to the world some of the most significant bands and records of that period. The present collection is dedicated to all those kiwi bands -many of them already forgotten- who, without knowing it, wrote a very important page in the history of music.
